It also looks as if AOL is using its lofty valuations as currency to effect vertical integration. With high stock price it can swap stock to gain control of what it considers prime e-mall tenants.

If this is the strategy, why charge for AOL? Why not simply feature paying tenants?

Mary, what does the infrastructure for an internet company consist of? Is it routers and switchers and cable or we talking about search engines, etc. I saw recently where Bezos of Amazon said he was spending his company;s windfall on "infrastructure?"
