I did not hear them saying that half of the 280 units are 5010 You did not hear that, because they did not say that. I said, "The 5010s that represent over 50% of units shipped over last two quarters make up a good percentage of the current WIP at integrators now. " Cymer shipped about 127 lasers over that time period, about 65 5010s would have been shipped conservatively.they could mot have shipped in the prior quarter(s) the balance of the 110 you assume are 5010, since they were not shipping these but for qualifications (maybe another total of 30?, 15 for test beds and qualifications and the rest to go to end demand?). Huh? Where are you pulling this 110 number from? I never mentioned it. Regarding "test beds and qualifications", the 5010 has been shipping since Q1, so I'm not sure that high a percentage of Q3's approximately 37 5010s would have been for such purposes.Another puzzle is that they shipped their number 1000 laser in the quarter, they have 600 installed in fabs that leaves 400 at other locations, 280 are in the channel, that leaves 120, of which half (60) could be the new 5010 and half (60) older test beds, qualification models and various research locations. No Zeev. The company has been in business for over 10 years. Those 120 lasers(pre-1997) were offerings to the DUV microlithography Gods for R&D purposes and sanctification of Cymer's future. <G> Try thinking about it this way Zeev. Cymer has installed 600 lasers, almost all of them 5000 series, but Taiwanese foundries and Korean DRAM manufacturers only have 25% of their capacity at 0.25µm. If they require more capacity in the future, they will be adding a ton of DUV steppers.
