Wally: Rubin is pissing me off with this stock investment idea for the social security funds. He stated today that there would be various committees formed that will have independent oversight of the management of these funds so that there would be no political meddling in the investments. Give me a break and get a reality check. Hey, Rubin, if you want to go with the "investment" of these funds, screw the managed approach and go with the Wilshire 5000 fund and save us all a lot of headaches. This is a Brinker idea and he is right on. And the fact that this indexed approach was not mentioned by him shows that they are intent upon setting up a system that will eventually -- despite their best intentions -- be prone to political influence and underperformance to boot.
