Jock,

I'm still looking around for more current info on the IBM drives.

We knew they were coming.

The time frame "this year" could mean December. Imagine, IBM is being sneaky about when they will officially release a product. How sly and misleading.

But think about this: if Clik!, being the small drive that it is, were such a bad idea, why would IBM want to step into the dung heap?

Where are they going to stick those things anyway? Or in order words, what are the intended applications?

Linda

IBM's drive is not removeable. You can't pop it out and
put it in another device, to transfer data from your
camera to your computer, for example. Totally different
market.

>Linda: This is clearly bad news for Iomega, which as you know was at one time a spin-off of IBM. IBM will not put out an inferior product on the market, and I suspect that this could be the death knell of Iomega <

I saw the IBM Microdrive at Comdex. The IBM rep said it would be priced at about $1.43 a MB....works out to about $500 Not really cheap enough to pose a real threat in the coming year....
