Khris -
I have a completely different take on the split. The stock has moved
very fast in a short amount of time. EMC is now mentioned with the
likes of IBM, CISCO, INTEL, and DELL... which ALL sport a high stock
price. Don't expect EMC to split if there is any chance that the
post-split price could drop below $50. It ain't gonna happen, but this
is not a BAD thing... All this splitting and running up of stocks is
going to haunt SOME companies SOME time... Long term investors have
nothing to worry about...

My only point is that managing a stock is not the same as managing a company. The sooner R comes to terms with this, the sooner HE will get what HE wants. And us too.
