This is a great announcement. I have been wondering when AOL will enter the online financial market, which is going to be huge. I am a fan of on-line banking, and the day will come when paper checks will be rare. Perhaps AOL plans to use the First USA deal to grow into an online bank. They have the critical mass to make online banking a friendly and popular experience, unlike the situation now, which is a kludge of electronic and paper transactions, and you really have to stay on top of your transactions, because online payments sometimes get lost.
