I wonder if Perham paid Michael Murphy to tout IDTI, considering both of them are lack of credibility.

Chris, "what am I missing here?" Maybe about 25% of your investment like me? *L*

Here is the lastest news out of the press release about the wonderful, 200-240Mhz WinChip2.

Here is my comment on Micheal Murphy

Message 7109861

I really thought that two years ago, Idti had just sooo much potential that has ultimately lead to total failure on the part of the WinChip. I part seemed destined to be a winner: Low power, smaller die size, performance below the best from INTC but not too shabby. Most importantly, the ramp up to decent speeds was an utter failure. Management totes that production was up 35% (to 300K units) when in fact that production rate should have been reached with in the first quarter of production. I guess that there was a hard time selling below INTC and others prices- especially to PC makers. So ramp up the MHz and sell. What happened?
NOTHING. No escuses.

Jim

What you are missing here is FAITH! When Intel bankrupts AMD because it dropped prices on its Celeron so low that AMD went belly-up competing in the game, our Justice Department will slap Intel and all its fabs in irons. Guess who's left with its WinChip to supply that huge market. It's either that or Michael Murphy is smoking dope, and you can take your pick.

Seriously, IDTI has diversified into other areas than SRAM(which is going to be hurt more than a bit by the inclusion of cache SRAM on board the microprocessor die), principally communication circuits, FIFOs, programmable logic with Clear Logic, and different specialty circuits. When, not if, the semiconductor industry recovers, IDTI should do all right. Unfortunately, it will take time. At least, IDTI rose a whole eighth of a point today, when many technology stocks fell significantly. Those traders among you who expect your stock to rise 30% a month better stick to internet equities and watch their momentum each fifteen nanoseconds. Though it looks easy from the outside, semiconductors have proved to be a tough business for everyone who has worked in it. I've been there, and am perhaps more tolerant than those who have not.

I take it you are not impressed with IDTI and Michael Murphy? I received the same flyer and was hoping to find some information on this un-named company. Thanks for posting your comment - I knew SI would have my answer.

Any info would be appreciated.
