<<Those laws are being misused ...>>

I don't know why your mold of person pretends that they support any laws at all since you obviously "feel" they can be used or not used depending on how you "feel" about it. Courts have the opportunity to apply discretion to the punishment of law breakers depending on the circumstances. You and yours want the laws to be used in some circumstances and not in others. Me and mine want "Liberty and Justice for All."

Maybe you're being a little harsh, Bob, calling the Republicans dishonorable. I prefer to think the GOP Congressmen/women who knucked under to the party's radical wing are weak-willed rather than dishonorable. This week's "Newsweek" has a fascinating and well balanced (IMO) article on the effect of the scandal and the GOP's actions (i.e. impeachment) on the future of politics, workplace relations (read: sexual harrassment), children's views of morality and of politics, and on our legal system. The writers covered all sides fairly and insightfully, which is somewhat rare for "Newsweek", IMO.

...in response to Robert Barry's words:
I really feel that there are a lot of dishonorable men and/or radicals in the Republican Party.

Bingo! Ken Starr and the radical faction of the GOP are waging a Holy War to defend fundamentalist Christian morals from the Great Satan in the White House. The approach of the year 2000 only heightens their religious fervor. (Think about it: have you ever seen Bill Clinton and the Anti-Christ in the same room? Hmm...?)

It's an anti-Clinton jihad. That's why they don't care about the political fallout. They're suicide bombers who don't care whether they live or die, in a political sense. Their cause is right, so they're gonna git Bubba, gol-dangit!

in response to Robert Barry's words:
Perhaps some of the dangerous religious zealots behind this Republican attack on the Democratic Party think that they are doing this for their god?
