Gary,>>> I think they should report when these online houses are down.<<<

I think this is a rookie reporter thinking that he is reporting some unusual event. CNBC has been on this story all day. This kind of stuff happens all the time. Does anybody know of a broker whose system have not crashed during working hours?

I know this is a terrible thing when its your oonline that is crashing and you can't get to your account - but to be fair, CNBC has to report this in a context without unnecessaily damaging someone's business trashing one unfortunate broker on a bad day.

How frequently does this happen at E*Trade and how does it compare to down time at other brokerages.

This dhappened to me at other brokerages with this kind of coverage. I am sure this has had similar experiences with other brokers.

Sh*t happens.
