02/03/1999 - U.S. Electricar Delivers 4 More EVs to USPS
Torrance, Calif. - U.S. Electricar announced today it has delivered its 10th electric delivery truck to the U.S. Postal Service, the last of a four-vehicle order for the Westminster, California Post Office. The electric vehicles (EVs) are already serving in day-to-day operations. Earlier, U.S. Electricar built six others that went to Harbor City, Calif. and Merrifield, Virginia for evaluation. The EVs are conversions of Grumman Olsen-built Long Life Vehicle (LLV) delivery trucks that were gasoline powered. For the most recent order, U.S. Electricar said it incorporated "significant technology advancements," such as the company's proprietary "Panther 60" drivetrain, a fully integrated 60-kilowatt (kW) alternating-current (AC) induction drive system. The system uses a 1.2 kW direct-current (DC)-to-DC converter, heat pump and power steering controller, and a built-in 6.6-kW on-board charger that "allows the ability to charge the batteries with both inductive and conductive charging systems concurrently," according to the company's press release.

So how's BAT doing on their 10 vehicle contract? I noticed they still drag the postal van around to "demonstrations" and such.

BAT International's subsidiary, SSPC, continues to develop their
electric power generation project in the San Ysidro/Otay Mesa area.
One generator facility will provide about 8 megawatts of power, and the second will provide about six megawatts.

BAT International's subsidiary, Electrobike is converting the old
brewery area in Los Angeles into a facility for receiving, inspecting, and testing the electric bicycles. It is expected that the facility will
employ about 30 people when it is finished. My friend knows Marcus Hayes, and has ridden the Jazz electric bicycle recently. He liked it,
remarking that the bicycle accelerated smoothly away from a stop.
Marcus Hayes previously worked on advertising for Marlboro, and has
a talent for taking a project from concept stage to production and distribution. Hayes has developed two dealer package arrangements
and a battery exchange display where owners can exchange their
discharged batteries for fresh batteries. Owners can also buy t-shirts,
baseball caps, and sunglasses with the Miripolsky-designed griffon
logo from the display rack. A Florida entrepreneur who owns several
Domino's Pizza franchises wants to purchase the Electrobike franchise for the entire state of Florida. Electrobike also plans to start
building two electric mopeds based upon Marcus Hayes' designs
in late 1999 or 2000.

BAAT can't post finances. SSPC already claimed cash on 10QSB.

If you read the SSPC 10QSBs you will see that they have 1,000,000 dollars in the bank. These are the same assets BAAT was claiming last year. The money is still there but now it's on SSPC's form. That's OK though cause it was always their money.
