>unable to check price range for [name of security], no bid or ask.<

Usually happens to me at least once a day.

I've gotten that same message, but when I've called MB they've told me they've never seen that problem before. I've found that if I click the spinner up and down on the limit price, it takes the order.

Ever had your spinner suddenly changing prices by wierd increments, instead of sixteenths?

Jay

Tom: Re "Not sending trade to server - incorrect fields"

I get this message all the time, especially during times of peak activity. I'm not convinced the problem resides on MBT's side, but if enough subscribers are having the problem, they should at least be willing to look into it. It's interesting that I use Mindspring too. It may be a broadband (or lack of it) problem. I'm using a 56k modem. The only other option I have is ISDN which I am seriously considering. Any thoughts out there? TIA

Tom--I've had this problem for weeks. Got the same response from MBT. They suggested I change ISP's. So I did, switching to UUNET which is recommended by MBT (I'm keeping Mindspring as a backup). This didn't solve the problem, which leads me to believe its not the ISP. I'm also getting quotes that lag between 1-8 minutes (real time aren't real anymore). Sometimes its the time and sales that lags. Sometimes its the market minder. I'm not sure which way to go, now. I'm going to download PCanywhere. Their tech support wants to look at some log files while the problem is occurring. Maybe if we complained collectively to Steve D., we might get some results. I just don't know. I'm putting in an ISDN line in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know if this helps.
