Just thought I would post this:

I've been a long time bear with regard to Amazon, but I'm beginning to understand why this stock has so many devotees. I'm a Ph.D. student and I buy a lot of books online--probably $1000 worth over the last year. Out of principle I tried out Barnesandnoble.com about six months ago, but went back to Amazon because the their site kept locking up my computer, their server was slow, they couldn't find odd books as quickly as Amazon, their prices weren't any better, their add-ons like reviews, other book suggestions and account tracking weren't as good, etc.

Yesterday I went back to Barnesandnoble.com thinking that surely they had fixed some of these problems. Nope. First of all, their site is slow slow slow. Can't they buy a decent server? Does it take a genius to figure out that a slow site annoys people? They didn't have nearly as many of neat features that Amazon has developed (I don't have time to number them all) and of the 5 books that I priced, they beat Amazon by a grand total of $1.50 on a $168.50 book order. So back to Amazon I go.

Although the stock may be overpriced, I'm beginning to understand why they've sold so many books.

Brent.
