I also urge all ETrade customers to file complaints with YOUR State Attorney General, alerting them to this brokerage not fulfilling their advertised services.

This has got to be remedied, by force if necessary.

E-trade clients foiled again ... CBS Marketwatch

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- In their third-straight day of service failures, E-Trade clients experienced another bout of bugs Friday that blocked them from receiving full access to their online trading accounts.

E-Trade (EGRP) removed a message from its Web site that said access to parts of members' accounts may be unavailable, but complaints about the service persisted, with several clients sending CBS.MarketWatch.com e-mails about their experiences.

An E-Trade spokesman wasn't immediately available for comment on the latest bugs, but cable channel CNBC reported that the company got full service restored after a brief interruption, which reportedly kept some customers from reaching key parts of its Web site.

Meanwhile, New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer's office said it was investigating consumer complaints about online brokerages.

Spitzer, who took office in January, released a statement saying: "The public knows that there are always risks involved in investing in the stock market. But part of that risk should not include questions about whether trades will be executed promptly or whether online brokerage firms can deliver on the services that they've promised.''
