Joe, there is some added nuance in the Prudential downgrade. In addition to the usual poor visibility for networking products sales because of back-end loading, the analyst says that his own channel checks are indicating slower than expected sell through. This suggests to him that it could be more difficult than usual to close business at the end of the quarter.

He makes it clear that he thinks the outlook brightens past this quarter. However, he points out that the lack of visibility makes it unclear what the base of sales will be going into the May quarter. His 12-month target price is $47. His previous rating was Accumulate (Buy on weakness).

Joe & All: Agree with all that you posted. My numbers and the fundamentals remain the same...this is nothing more than someone yelling "fire" when there is none in sight!

Most of the negative news on this web is from those who use "monopoly money" to play the stockmarket! As to "Mr. Finder" and others who share his view(s), which are subjective, and without any data to substantiate his arguments...leads one to the conclusion that he learned very little in Finance 101...that is if he, and others have taken the course!

Anyone who has been "battle hardened" knows that the "front line" moves back and forth....only a fool(s)like Mr. Finder & Co. seem to come out of their "holes" whenever there is negative news! Reminds me of the same cowards that fired their weapons, without a target in sight!

What is my point? Simple....remain calm...regroup...prepare for the counter-attack! Another point to these "astute investors"...THERE ARE NO PROFITS UNTIL YOU SELL & THERE ARE NO LOSSES UNTIL YOU SELL...it is only paper losses/profits!

Analysts have the interests of the firms they work for in mind...not the investors. Soooooooo, quit listening to these "paid for employees" and do your own homework, and make your own decisions!

So..."Stick to the Fight when you are hardest hit....its when things seem worst that you must not quit"! I have a SUBSTANTIAL amount of stock in 3Com and I am not the least concerned...I've done my research and homework and continue to LET THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES...I don't react on "rumors" and especially negative viewpoints that cannot be substantiated!

Joe: Keep up the good work...cool under fire....focused on the objective...don't let the "Flies" annoy you! They are usually "seasonal" and have a short life time!
