I understand the scope. By using a scope that large, however, it uneccessarily provokes fear, IMO.

Getting the IP is easy, re-direct or not. And if the resources you discuss here are available to him:

Then, the whole of SI should be very worried. If he has those kinds of chops, the first step is not to break into just one dinky 'puter to get the user's files. Instead, break into SI, get everybody's account info, then go on a big hunting spree. Small potatoes for one with the kind of resources you outline in point two.

Advancing that size of scope over a profile re-direct leads one into a lot of possibilities; not necessarily reasonable ones, but certainly "doable", from a technology standpoint. Time to turn off the modems at that point.
