<<Newbridge warned today, blamed it on Asia and Latin America. I'm surprised no one's posted that here. They got scorched for 17%. It looks like they took down LU/ASND and CSCO 5-7%. Maybe NASDAQ feels if telecom is getting squeezed, everyone is.>>

The NN news came after the market closed. So, it could not have been the catalyst for the drop in the NASDAQ. Besides, NN is not a bellwether, which would cause such a severe drop (if any drop at all). The drop has been attributed to the estimate reduction for INTC by Merrill Lynch, the negative comments on LU by Lehman Brothers, as well as the general nervousness in the market ahead of the employment statistics tomorrow (Friday) given the huge run-up in the NASDAQ over the past few months.
