Paul, you must have a great database on SI posts. Do you use a Xeon server to find them? But what is the relevance of a 1997 PROJECTION to a cost analysis based on Intel's historical report for Q4'98? I took the numbers right from Intel and they show that the

1)variable cost per CPU for Intel is $61.54. This is above the ASP for Celeron 300A's and Celeron 333's and Celeron 366's by the end of the quarter. THE MORE OF THESE INTEL MAKES, THE LOWER THEIR PROFITS.
2)fixed cost per CPU is an additional $68.36

Furthermore, these numbers are consistent with the ASP and gross margin reported by analysts.

Which of the Intel numbers don't you agree with?
