Thread:
I just had a couple of questions on thoughts about investing in
ORCL and SUN. I kind of had the feeling that the market for Oracle's
database stuff was drying up. I mean, it has been around for quite a while and I would think that anybody who would want it would already have it (what do I know?). But, I understand that they have a new version that has come out. So I guess it would be important to know why companies would want to upgrade from whatver version they have to the new 8. What is it that it has that is so special? I have heard through the grapevine that it uses the internet pretty extensively, but that is all I have heard about it. Also, is the money they make from upgrades significant enough to drive revenues? I have heard good things about Oracle's ERP software as well.
