I try to keep it simple on the 13's thread... Just enough info to be quickly digested...

A broad look at market breadth continues to show more stocks declining than advancing...

More times than not the overall market declines when this happens... The only exception to this is when a small group of companies (Nifty Fifty) mask the market weakness because their market capitalizations overpower their indexes... An example of this is when DELL, MSFT, INTC, were soaring while the average Nasdaq stock was floundering... The weight of just a few stocks carried the index higher... The key to the real strength was the Advance/Decline relationships of the broader universe of stocks... Now that some of the big caps are experiencing dips quote.yahoo.com they can no longer mask the broader weakness in the market...
