Ancor Announces OEM Agreement with JNI; GigWorks MKII Switches Chosen as Part of High-Performance SAN Solution
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Ancor Communications (Nasdaq: ANCR), a leading Fibre Channel switch provider, announced today it has signed an OEM agreement with JNI (formerly Jaycor Networks Inc.), a leading vendor of Fibre Channel products. Under the agreement, JNI will test, integrate, and sell Ancor's MKII family of switches as part of a complete SAN solution for the high-end enterprise market.

JNI chose Ancor's GigWorks MKII switches for their reliability, speed, and potential to scale to very large enterprise SANs. Scott Ruple, JNI's vice president of marketing, said, "We are excited to partner with a pioneer such as Ancor Communications. Their wealth of experience is obvious in the price/performance of their switch. With the MKII switches as part of our solution, we can now offer a complete Fibre Channel product for cost-sensitive workgroups."

"We recommend JNI's SBus adapter cards for their high performance," said Carla Kennedy, Ancor's vice president of marketing. "Their recent acquisition of Adaptec's Fibre Channel product line and the additional offering of Ancor's MKII switches further strengthen their position, enabling JNI to offer a powerful solution for storage-area networks."

Re;JNI. Great. They did have the FibrestarFCS-1063 switch.
JNI is market leader for adapters used in the S-bus architecture and is a leading supplier of these products to EMC, Sun and Amdahl.

Netmarks is also a distribution partner.
