Clay,

To answer your question of Friday, I am really trying to get comfortable with trading the index. I have very limited experience in the large contract but feel very comfortable with the mini. Yes, commission is a factor, but day trading one or two larger contracts has slippage that is also a factor. I'm as close to the bottom as I can get with commissions without having my own Globex terminal. Without being specific, my mini trade costs are less then those seen mentioned throughout SI.

It is having the confirmations back so quickly that gives me the
confidence and ability to scalp trades. I attempt to look for the higher probability trades, the days that have the large gaps, or the days that offer the waterfalls, etc as we saw Thursday and Friday. Some days I don't trade the index at all.

I think that the internet and technology along with TOPS & CUBS and all routing will get nothing but better and I hope to say that I'm comfortable and successful trading 10 lots in the large contract in the not so distant future. We all have to start somewhere! <g>

Thanks for asking!
