Tom,

I've thought about doing the same thing with some of my AAPL. But I've never sold (written) options on my holdings before. How does one go about it?

Going out as far as June is an eternity in the options world. You might consider something nearer in time and then do it again if you don't get filled the first time.

I've done this on occasion, but you have to be willing to live with just the premium in your hand and watch the stock move away from you in this case. I usually don't like to be in those sorts of stocks at all. Either I want to own it because it is cheap enough, or I don't want to own it.

Different strokes for different folks. ;-)

Did you ever write deep in the money calls to shed some extra shares?
