Does anyone know at what price the K7's will debut at, or exactly when they will arrive? I've heard reports that say June, in the $500 range for a 600MHz. The P3 isn't cheap, and based on what I've read I would snap up the K7 over a P3 any day. If AMD can come even close to executing on time, their future quarters will look good. This whole "price war" thing is fairly worrisome, however.

The stock looks like a fairly good buy at around 16, but it may be smart to wait until the smoke clears. The full effect of the news and price war may not have already set in, and the Nasdaq may continue to tumble - there's no telling. I would wait until there's some evidence of strength before buying (too late though, I'm already in at 21-1/2 to my chagrin).

OT - I marvel at today's CPU prices. I remember back in the day when a top o' the line CPU would cost you $1000, no less. Partially because of technology advancement but due in no small part to AMD, we can get a pretty friggin badass chip for under $100.

Paul,

Re: "Jerry Sanders - aka Captain Ahab"

Yes, Jerry has "dug" a very "big hole" for himself in Q1 '99 ... Looks
like it is back to "red ink" as Jerry chases the "White Whale". <ggg>
Isn't this a pleasant thread ... what with no AMD "flamers".

Make It So,
Yousef
