Anyway, my guess is that CKFR will move up and down as it has for its history, but I'll not be left at the station when she lights a fire under her tail and heads north without so much as an "I'll see ya!"

Only thing I'd add to that, you want to have your buying done before CHECKFREE is a button on a Portal....Pete said in the conference call...April Quarter, I'm assuming Quicken.Com...

Once that's up, announced first...it will be readily DUPLICATIBLE.

I'm also assuming this April...this is CheckFree not TP after all.

EXPOSURE will drive CheckFree to another level, even before ACCEPTANCE kicks in....folks buy BUTTONS. Don't get too tricky in your trading between now and then IMO...I agree with your approach Glenn.

I was long until the trading range became so predictable that I had to play.

I've been watching you guys play the stochastics on this one, and haven't been comfortable enough to play along. I like your 25% stategy.

Another question: do you suggest placing stops on this stock. I think back to the August '97 revision and realized that if I had set some stops in the high teens that I would have sold when the stock gapped down at the open. Probably would have receive around $15/share. In hind sight, I could have bought back a ton of shares as it withered down to $6. I and many others were looking for a bounce back after the stock gapped down, similar to the way Tech Data (TECD) behaved in the past week. We were wrong. I think the difference is that TECD is a large company that makes a lot of $ / share and CKFR is a small cap that at the time was barely breaking even.

Anyway, my guess is that CKFR will move up and down as it has for its history, but I'll not be left at the station when she lights a fire under her tail and heads north without so much as an "I'll see ya!" I don't guess bottoms anymore; just don't want to play with any % I won't mind leaving at the dock when the rocket takes off!

Care to guess when the rocket will take off? My bet is when multiple portal deals are announced. Perhaps at the same time as the April earnings release. They will meet or miss analysts expectations by 0.01 and will announce that the Quicken.com portal will be operation in May and the Yahoo portal will be operational in June. The stock will take off into the $50's as the momentum players move-in.
