Spo....I mean zp

If you backup the KOT you will be in a position to play ie experiment with different options.

Yeah..your right.....I have to do that right away. I can see a 'right' decision is a figment of my imagination. There are just too many viable options to simply pick one and forget the others. Experimentation is seemingly unavoidable.

Spots statement about the lack of other sw intervention necessary with a dual boot setup has caught my attention. That has been an underlying core type premise all along. It may be the most linear solution in relation to other decisions we both have made i.e. going for Bios boot selection between two completely independent drives. I find continuity of an underlying theme, once established, is very important to me in any endeavor. Kind of a grounding thing.

ZP

Use the copy Partition function to copy Win98 to the tail end of IDE1. Then Hide it. (size it
smaller if you want..

Done..done..and done

My only question is about the 'This drive has been set as Read-Only in preferences' message in reference to the original C:win98 on IDE 2. I used PM from IDE 2 to perform the above. You may have meant me to perform from IDE 1. I do have PM on IDE1 but I didn't think it mattered where I used PM from. Do you suspect this message is because I was operating from the same OS I was also cloneing?
