The victor gets to write history but what happens when the victor is an apologist like Clinton? You don't get the truth either way, right? The only answer is a totally free society in which people get to do their own thinking, go to school without a uniform, keep and bear arms, read their choice of books and magazines, wear a fur coat without a warning lable, and MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS. I'm afraid Clinton fails on all of these accounts. I don't get your point about the Japanese knowing the truth though. Please explain.
