"End of story" my foot. Obstruction and perjury are felonies, but only if proved in a court of law, which the Senate is most definitely not. It is in fact a political body of 100 men and women acting in their own best interests, which include

1. getting re-elected; and
2. lining their own pockets with donations (legal/illegal); and
2. maximizing partisan gain

High-minded language such as "upholding our Constitutional duty" and "sending a message about morality" are smoke screens for the Republicans' true motives (see above).

Most moderate GOP Congressmen who aren't true believers fear that the party's Christian right-wing will oppose them if they don't uphold the Christian Coalition's warped idea of Christian behavior. This "Bull Wimp" faction of the GOP may not really favor removing Clinton, but to say so would be political suicide.

in response to my words:
IMHO, lying about sex and trying to cover up a sexual affair unrelated to the governance of the nation are not "high crimes and misdemeanors."

...and I stand by that statement. End of story. JTI
