Do you think internet access is necessary on the backup?

Internet access is a priority for me. I do not know what I would do without it.

Naturally a second machine with Internet access is one option. What if you need to download a file bigger than a floppy and want it on your new machine?

For me..PM, DI, and a configured browser are basic essentials..a word processor and spread sheet are also in my high priority list.

>>Computer names the same for both main instal and backup are not a problem

Don't say I didn't warn you <g>.

Let's put it this way. You've blown away your main OS,
booted your backup, and now you want to ask a question
obtain a driver update, get a tool, or cry about it.
Then what?

SID has nothing to do with internet access. The name of the compute also nothing to do with internet TCPIP. Both these things relate only to MS networking and Netbios (which may run over TCPIP).
