Good point.

I agree.

People are constantly starting buyout rumors in the hope of making a quick buck. Or maybe they just like to stir the pot. I wasn't familiar with the URL but it's fun to read just the same. IFMX ... $28 ... has a nice ring.

Or does competing with IFMX scare the bejesus out of Larry?

Good luck.

Maybe Larry's ego plays less of a role in the company these days...an Informix buy-out could make sense.

or maybe even he took a knock to the head during the wild Sydney to Hobart yacht race?

Don't be too quick to write this off. Just as in politics using the word "never" usually comes to haunt you.
What was IFMX a year ago? It had an "e" on its ticker, no creditability or favorable analyst ratings, no profits and no big customer wins e.g. SBC, IRS and two earnings restatements .
So maybe now this might make sense. If my memory serves no one here has ever said that IFMX technology (plus RDBK)was bad, just that the company was managed by snake oil sellers.
Besides I took my position when this company was in the tank so $28 to me sounds like a golden egg. At worst it may be a good bounce for the week.
