A more general question, Bill ... if this were the start of a larger downdraft than we have seend for quite sometime, how would you expect people to act differently. Puts will certainly be bought into any initial decline of a larger decline ...

There is another good point -- the recent (shorter term) turnarounds have been quite small. I don't think we are ready for a BK, but perhaps a significant tech wreck at this point and as a result I'm not taking the puny doubles and triples that I have on a number of put positions now ...

What do you look for in predicting a serious decline?

One more question (sorry): I put this to Plonk also -- when the indicies forge ahead carried by a smaller number of issues, doesn't it make sense to analyze a collection of these ...

Jim has his big cap thing to get the sentiment of MM's, but I have to wonder if one wouldn't just be better off looking at the NDX or the NDX plus a few other biggies for clues about where things are headed ...
