I spoke to Dr. Bhappu several months ago. He indicated to me that there are indications that some minor amounts of gold may be associated with other elements in some desert settings. However, he said these are minor and much more work would need to be done on a scientific basis. He has not seen any work to date which comes close to understanding these. He also said if there is any question as to the presence of gold or any other precious metals, the whole sample could be disolved; ie break down the matrix and then assay. However, no one has requested such an analysis. He finds the whole thing very interesting from a scientific aspect but does not believe in the stories of untold riches.

Dr. Bhappu was the Chief Mettalugist for the New Mexico Bureau of Mines and Minerals. This is an organization similar to the Airizona Department of Mines and Minerals except in New Mexico they are much bigger and are a branch of The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. They probably employ 50 geologists, engineers and scientists. They also have chem labs and assay facilities. Dr. Bhappu was also the president of AIME which is the largest association of Mining Engineers.

My association with the Coalition comes out of my pocket. I pay all of my own expenses. As I said, I am always open to new ideas and fresh blood, if it can help our cause.
