Sorry if this has already been discussed, but...

I just upgraded to IE 5.0, and I'm having trouble with SI posting now. The problem only occurs when I typing a lengthy response to a lengthy PM or post. Essentially the text box I'm typing in scrolls off the top of the screen and there's no way to get back down and keep it there.

Has anyone else seen this? I'm still using Windows 95 and upgraded from IE 3.0 with which I had no problems.

Thanks!

A "nominal cost" of $197 versus $72 for a more reliable office suite?

That's a good case but the problem you have is that you have old files that you would want to use from a different office suite or else if the company you work for has a different office suite than your home system. This causes a file compatibility problem changing from one suite to the other. (Those file converts are terrible)

From a consumer point of view you would want a open file format. From a software companies point of view you would want to lock in the consumer to your product so open is out.

Now a very interesting thing is happening and it's called the internet. The internet has open standards but one company called MS is trying to prevent this. One of their tactics was to try and eliminate Netscape but that has failed. The other one is to try and fragment Java which the courts have yet to decide.

The only way the consumer will benefit if the net is keep open.
The DOJ has to step in for the protection of the poor old consumers and taking on MS is one way of doing this.
