OT - Techies

My neighbor kid was just trying to install some Star Wars game on his PC and he got a "failure to initialize HAL" error. It ran fine on my computer.

Any of you gamer folks know what HAL is? It reminds me of 2001.

TIA
JF

Marc,

First, I never give up on the Habs.

Second, all the current benchmarks on the V3 place it much faster than the Rage Fury (and any other card where I've been able to see any specs). I'm not saying that it will be the best videocard ever, I'm saying that it is much more in the line I'm looking for. I'll be completeing my system in the April/May timeframe. I'll make my final choice then.

In my mind, it will come down to ATi Vs. 3Dfx/STB for OEM business. STB has been the only card maker that's been able to go head-to-head against ATi. I guess (as a Canadian) I'd like to see ATi win, but I like the cards that 3Dfx puts out better.
