Waitron?? I musta been asleep that year. Fortunately.
Look for the term to be revived - when restaurants use droids for the floor staff. It does sound rather mechanical.

Edwarda, women have had equal employment opportunities for years yet most women still turn their noses up at dirty blue collar jobs even when the pay is much better than the jobs they are willing to take.

They scream "sexual discrimination" if a large corporation has 20 male vice presidents and only 5 female vice presidents but they don't say a word if that same company has 500 males and only 2 females building a bridge across the Missouri River.

My company has begged women for years to accept a job in the shop areas to no avail. (I must admit these are very dirty and strenuous jobs but the pay is way above average.)

Have you ever noticed who is holding the jackhammer and who is holding the "Go Slow" sign when driving thru road construction?

Jim

Edwarda,

Please throw your gender out of a window that I am passing by -- I've caught women that way before. When I was a chairman, I always referred to me as a piece of furniture -- chair, chaise longue (on my lazier days), throne (when ( was feeling particular royal) cathedra when I was decreeing faith and morals. It gives such flexibility, and in America one can be whatever piece of furniture one wishes. Right now I am a Procrustean Bed. Ouch!
