Well, in that case, what SB is really arguing is the same nonsense that Jim Patterson used to argue on this thread: decreasing component prices were bad because they lead inevitably to decreasing ASP which lead inevitably to decreasing revenues (leap of faith here) which leads to decreasing earnings.

But of course, even smokestack afficianados know this is nonsense, because they understand the consequences of elasticity of demand. They know that decreasing oil prices are good for the transportation industry.

But they like to treat purchasers of technology like diabetics. Regardless of the price you need your insulin.

SB also confuses temporary oversupply issues (like hard drives and DRAM) with the long run disinflationary environment that technology companies always exist under.
