Hey, Weby -- I agree with your assessment of the potential uses of micropublishing for scholarly or technical journals. It's kind of crazy that they're not more easily available. I'm in the end stages of my dissertation right now and I've spent a lot of time in the library during the past year or two, tracking down somewhat obscure journal articles -- oftentimes getting photocopies through inter-library-loan. I would happily pay a few bucks to get copies of these articles over the web rather than going through all of the hassle of hunting them down on foot. A vehicle like MyPublish gives journals like these a way to offer this service without losing the subscription value for their journals. In fact, it would allow them to get a little extra money for something they're currently giving away. That's the beauty of the system -- everybody gains.
