Neocom:You want to see honorable resignation, LBJ did it. Now, what was his rational for increase of Vwar? He was impressing the Republicans. No evidence any Communist felt threatened, unless you include the Dinosaur Soviet Generals who would not face a war-hardened American Army encamped on their border at Genmany--thus Afganistan. How threatened were we with that? Johnson's allowing Profit for his program was not alone the object of this Vwar. When the 60's brought the rejection of Material Wealth as the only goal of our society, Nixon did what comes naturally to those in authority--from position, not continuing rightness--he sent the ne'r-do-wells and delinquints to the Army. Thus died a Spiritual Revival that rivaled the Civil War. Did Johnson care about the Vietnamese? Hell, has America ever cared about it's possesions? We RULED the Phillipines for 50 years, and left them barely free, barely prosperous. What could we do with another Asian country that our only connection to was the Imperialist French and the residual corrupt landlords and warlords. Who benefitted from this war, under LBJ, the Great Society. Who else, American Conservative Industry. Why look further?

Of course you approve of the Free Trade agreements. Your respect for the democratic principles of the Democratic Party is guff. The mainstream of economic thought equates powerbooks to power stations. Bandwidth to indoor plumbing. While we wear shirts made at 1/2 price by slave labor, our factories have left our citizens without work. Chinese Beauracrates share the wealth with American Industry, while American poor swap wealth for misery and back. In my county, the largest private employer is a textile cutting plant. My wife teaches their children who still use outhouses. Tellk me about consumers. Do you refer to French restaurant patrons, or some of our neighbors who we took to eat at McDonalds--for the first time. The Democrates beat Hitler, Mussoulini, and Tojo, then brought them back to civilization. When Reagan beat the Commies [what a hype credit] do we see another prosperous customer? When we were pissing our blood in V., couldn't we have concentrated our economic rejuvenating power for our neighbors? Latin America has given us Haiti/Cuba/Mexico refugees, and Mexican/El Salvadoian/Nicarauguan revolutions. This waste could have been civilized partners. Shirts at 1/2 off. Please.
