I think that LoD is correct about a split being unlikely.

I thought so too, but comparing this year's Q1 price action to Q1'98, it seems reasonable to expect the split. Although... DELL is growing a bit slower than it used to, so the split could be delayed. As far as your expectation of a tank in the case of no split (or a delayed split;-), then I think you're right. That seems par for the course this quarter.
