Why not, Michael O.?: Seductive broadband benefit: Always On: A new paradigm? Potentially more significant than any other single development in the history of conventional TV or computing, the "constant connection" aspect of broadband truly breaks with the past. Notwithstanding certain dedicated, mission-critical applications, at no time in the evolution of these technologies has the concept of "always on" delivered value to the average user. The question is, how shall "always on" be exploited? What can it come to mean? Ironically, a throwaway phrase, "stay tuned," may inherit the earth... Comments? BAM
