Hell, I give up. Addicted. Michael, I'll join that posters anonymous group if you start it.
Al, what's wrong with the lobes? Was it Tom Waits who said " better a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy"?

<< The question is, how shall "always on" be exploited? What can it come to mean?
Ironically, a throwaway phrase, "stay tuned," may inherit the earth...

Forgive me if I misunderstand - or if my understanding is too simplistic- BAM, but I'll take a swing. Eventually
one ...maybe the only ... source for both a regular monitor and large screen ultrathin high resolution TV will be some hybrid of an evolved web. Via satellite dish or phone lines or cable. When prevalent bandwidths are wide enough to offer full screen impeccable video and audio ( and I ask again, what bandwidth would that be? ) a whole new economic and information world will arrive. Touching almost ever area of human activity in one way or another. And most all would be archived and accessible ( either free or for a fee) around the clock. ( MYOHMY- the storage needs then!) And much of it would support advertising. And items getting frequent hits would instantly be known - changing the dynamics of advertising forever.Want to watch a Have Gun Will Travel rerun at 3 in the morning.? Click a button. Want to take a quantum physics class at Cal Tech? Click another. Want to watch a classic movie? Click. Does a surgeon with a difficult operation the next day want to see a video of the leading expert in the field performing it? Want to watch Karen slice the banana bread at Ampex's 2010 annual meeting? Click. Want to watch old footage of a garage band 's first Net performance...the one that later led to their fame. Click. Wanna watch the 2005 NCAA basketball title game? Click. More etceteras here than a DST 812 could store. That WEB would swallow broadcasting whole. They would just be a part of it. And this all is barely beginning.Barely.
As a small investor, I still try, in my fumbling ways, to very roughly determine the " value" of stocks before I buy. Actually, until I met AXC, that has served me well. Batting average 25-3. But I usually underestimate value and sell too early. Trying to grab a handle on AXC is on the tough side for me, but I feel comfortable holding here for these reasons.
The elan of AXC's patents , even if core revenues keep shrinking, makes it worth at least $1 to me ( standing alone). If core revenues ever begin to again rise, $3 and well up . Then we look at the potential IPO. What capitalization? Notice Broadcast.Com's is over 1.9 billion even after the pretty severe slide, Bam. Has been much more than twice that of course. Lets just venture a fairly conservative guess that a properly handled and packaged TVontheWeb IPO would get a capitalization of at least 250 million.( Though we would of course hope for more ).With AXC owning 50% - divided by, conservatively, 60 million shares or so ...that adds over $2 to the AXC face value. With remarkable growth potential from there. So a minimum, nice , pretty safe in the long run, $3+ value on the stock. And that is exclusive of the numerous potential wildcards ...everything from eventual MicroNet growth...DST and DCR and royalty growth, new products or techniques for narrowcasting compression, alliances, additional acquisitions, market manias ...etc etc.
So AXC seems a snoozable value again to me. And I am not going to sweat the trading swings. Wish I still had the liquidity to take advantage of them. Enough babbling for me...til the next time I need my fix. I enjoy reading all the posts.

PS do hope TVon WEband Reiter's combo would get a capitalization like EXDS, Tom. Good dream enhancing link.
