Stock bull:

I am sitting on the sidelines looking to add a bunch more dell, waiting; and intuition (or whatever you want to call the merging of known and unknown variables) is telling me to wait... I agree no split this time; although I don't see how we could have anything but a blowout quarter. Given the reaction last quarter, they are playing it even closer to the vest... Should I wait, or should I buy?

Stock Bull, a split is really irrelevant. Look at it this way, if there were lots of people jumping in the stock because they thought it was going to split and it did, does that convert them to buy and hold? Nope. So regardless, if the stock ran up, as in the case of CSCO in anticipation of a split, it will inevitably come down. The key fundamental underpinning is that a split adds no value to the company over the long run. Sure, it can get a lot of momentum players nuts over a period of a few weeks, but does it matter a year from now?
