Your description of "stock as bonus" is common among publicly traded companies. However, I don't think those "insiders" (meaning employees inside the company) are the ones who will have an impact on a stock's price. It's the "insiders" as defined by the SEC who can make a difference, since they're the ones who make decisions which can substantially affect the company's bottom line. "Can" make a difference, not "do" make a difference. Very situational. This particular transaction by Mr. Petit tweaks my curiosity since it just so happened to occur after some major press releases, and right before the stock eroded. Regards, TED
