Thread,
Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. But I have had a terrible time accessing SI via my cable modem for months now. Needless to say, all my questions to tech support(Roadrunner's) went unanswered. But just yesterday it started working again. Anyhow, I hope to start contributing information and discussion once again.

I hope this isn't a repeat, but I found this press release most interesting for two reasons. One is the technology itself, the other the partnership between Cisco and CIEN. Isn't the writing almost on the wall as to who may end up with CIEN? Or maybe the speculation between Cisco/Cienna been run into the ground already.

Can someone comment on the technology aspect. That's the intriguing part to me. I didn't realize that IP and DWDM had never been matched up before. Isn't this a fairly significant press release? I did notice it said, "In Europe." Has this already been done in the US? Come to think of it, I believe CIEN has delivered some IP/DWDM equipment to Qwest or Williams already. Right?
Thanks,
MikeM(From Florida)
