Kevin Rose was right, it's not about marketing, it's about power.

It was a terrible ad. But that is irrelevant. SEBL is saying we are big enough and powerful enough to throw money at suberbowl advertising. He is saying, we are the most powerful front office company, but more importantly we are powerful enough to compete with SAP, Oracle and PSFT in footprint.

I have no doubt you will continue to complain about SEBL in every way you can. And for this year you will continue to talk about what a "value" vantive is.

I have no doubt that SEBL will out execute and outsell almost every enterprise software company for a long time. I'd bet 1999 ends up with Vantive having a far lower share of the market for ERM software than they started with.
