OUCH! Or Yippe!

This could be the other shoe dropping. If Siemans decides to go forward in Data Networking without COM$, then it spells trouble. COM$ needs to have a larger world-wide partner in the telco area (or be acquired by one) since they are not currently a player there. Siemens gave COM$ credibility in the telco area.

Perhaps Siemans grew irritated at being left in the dark about COM$/MSFT relationship.

OTOH

The following comments are positive:

But at the same time Mr. Jung dismissed the huge mergers in the industry as "wasting shareholder money."

"We will not buy anything at these exorbitant prices, but at the same time we must be flexible," he said. "We prefer teaming and artnerships to megamergers at overblown prices," he said.

Perhaps the will consider buying a company at fire-sale prices like the current COM$ price...

All those who, in the last few months, said they wouldn't agree to sell COM$ at $75, Its starting to look a bit more attractive. Maybe the above comments will fuel merger mania for COM$ and we'll be back in black.

We need to hire the ASND CEO when he leaves after the LU merger.
