<OT) Steven, remember the Cuban missile crisis drills of sitting under our desks and closing our eyes if there was a nuclear attack by the Russians on our school district? I recall that more than a few sessions of "art" class involved drawing bomb shelters that could withstand a 5 megaton blast. Wierd. That was public school and 4th grade for me. OT reDARE DARE program is a horror. Children getting used to seeing POLICE on their campuses, more and more a "military" society and training children to accept it. THe DARE program was cost/effectiveness studies by the Justice dept and found to be a waste of money. But in this country once a program is set up it is never dismantled, who cares it it had any "beneficial" effects or not. Vote Libertarian. Give us our tax money back and our freedoms back. And now I really will stop. I had to say this: I HATE the DARE program: if you want to know some of the reasons PM me. Best wishes to all.
