I think it's interesting that everyone who is upset about E*Trade's admittedly faulty recent service (which I don't excuse) is complaining about all of the money they lost--you'd think that everyone of them was some sort of Master of the Universe who never made a trade that lost money. Sorry, folks, but I don't buy it. If they couldn't make a trade because E*Trade was down, the actual reality was that they were just as likely to have saved money as lost money (there being a "loser" and a "winner" on every transaction, depending on the time frame).

E*Trade needs to get their stuff together (which they're doing), but all this chest-beating about the vast fortunes that have been lost because the service was down is crap. As many "fortunes" were saved as lost.

<<All this talk about stop "crying" and, as others have said, "whining", is nothing but euphemistic language for..."we don't want to hear the truth, so shut up".>>

I don't agree with your analysis at all. I also don't agree with the people suggesting you quit complaining. If people didn't complain about what they see a s insufficient service, there would be no incentive for the company to improve. However, I think that your complaints have more to do with the service offered not being adequate to your needs, than anything else. As you and I have noted in other posts, E*Trade services are fine for me, but not at all for you - we have completely different trading styles and different needs. It would be like trying to use a BMW to haul trash - a BMW is great car, but totally useless for hauling. I'm not saying E*Trade is the BMW of online services <g>, only that it works great for my needs.

If they want to keep the high volume traders as customers, E*Trade obviously has to make changes to their offerings and service quality.

I'm not sure how I'm trying to fool you, so I'm not doing a very good job at that.

Here is my question: If people are so unhappy w/ E-Trade, why do they still have account there?

btw- I have no position in EGRP.
