Yes, I does look pretty bleak. I was hoping that the various support levels would hold and it doesn't look like that will happen.

As to being in cash or shorting, that is a personal thing and I don't recommend it either way. Dorsey's book talks about playing the market both ways and he does it actively. Personally, I do not short anything, but I do buy/sell options. For the past 8 trading days and until yesterday, in my trading account I only had one long call position. The rest were puts. I sold most of the puts (and bought calls) yesterday anticipating a technical bounce today, even though the indicators were still negative.
