Wizzer,

The relief well doesn't have to intercept the first well. The first well is dead all by itself. The relief well, Bellvue #1R, should have it's designation changed to Bellvue #2, since it is now going to be a production well.

It will go straight down, with the intention of penetrating the Temblor some 500 feet to the east of Bellvue #1.
They should be able to make 150-200 feet/day for the first 1500 feet, and then steadily slow down as they get deeper.

WIZ - feet per day can vary wildly - I think this area is not bad - I know of drill programs drilling only 1-2 meters and hour ( through Granite) Now if you are drilling through sands etc much faster - top end 10M per hour ( guess only)
