Luc,

first off, just for the record, I don't have a position in ANTC at this time. If anything I contemplate going long.

Yes, results were encouraging, with TCI business recovering greatly. Also, the 3-yr contract for up to $900m is good news. Reading the 10-K for 1997, I really get the impression that they are well positioned in the cable market. Also, the CEO made encouraging forward-looking statements in the press release and CC. I guess Wall Street is not fully convinced yet, so we probably need more proof that ANTC is up and running again.

One negative I see is that the gross margin is only about 25% which is an improvement, but is not that much in itself... But I'm not finished with my review anyway, so this is just one tidbit that caught my eye.

I'll be watching this stock,
Thomas

The future starts today . . .

On Tuesday, March 9, AT&T completed the merger with TCI.
AT&T now owns about 19% of Antec. Armstrong is hot to trot on upgrading their old cable facilities for cable telephony as quickly as possible. I think it is a no brainer as to who is going to start getting some big bucks soon. Any thoughts on the possibility of an AT&T buyout of Antec ?
